My Approach to Art

Creativity Manifested

I believe visual art is a manifestation of the collaborative nature of God with the spirit of man in creatng expressive pieces that compel viewers to look more deeply at themselves and the world around them. My representational style utilizes color, pattern, movement, and texture to evoke emotion, inviting others to participate in the continuing story.

Artistic and Personal Growth

Just as collage is a combining and layering of distinct elements, my artistic practice is informed by my pursuits as a photographer, painter, community educator, horticulturist, landscape designer, author, and minister. These life elements reflect themselves in my artistic and personal growth, and working philosophy.

Who Am I?

I am a 70-year-old husband, father, and grandfather. My wife, Jan, and I live in The Dalles, Oregon, USA, with our Yorkie-poo, Princess. I am inspired by the complexity and beauty of the ever-shifting natural beauty that surrounds me in the Columbia River Gorge.
